Community Bike Block Party

On Saturday April 26th we hosted our first ever Cycle Oregon Community Bike Block Party in SE Portland. We joined forces with our friends at Baerlic Brewing (a super bike friendly brand and location!) to close down SE Sherman between SE 10th & SE 11th to have a little bike fun with our friends. Bike rodeo courses for adults and kids, secure bike valet parking courtesy of our amazing volunteers, informational booths on our events and programs, and over a dozen community groups stationed outside offered guests a look into the diverse cycling styles and community we have here in Oregon. From the first rider through to the last to leave this was an amazing day for our organization and community; an absolute success in our books.

Thanks to these community partners for sharing Oregon’s bike joy with so many people, let’s do it again soon. Happy summer everyone!

“I wasn’t sure what the Cycle Oregon Block Party was going to be all about, but I knew I didn’t want to miss it! So many folks and so much fun visiting all the booths and talking and catching up with friends!!!”

“WOW. If yesterday was any indication of how incredible this Bike Summer is going to be, y’all better BUCKLE UP and brace yourselves for non stop friend making, laughter, and (of course) fun on two wheels. Best part of the whole day was learning that Blaze of the Portland Trailblazers loves us. Thank you to Cycle Oregon for getting us all out on such a beautiful day.”

We loved that Cycle Oregon closed the street to make way for the cycling community to take over and bring all the silly, safe, fun energy to our beautiful city. Thanks to everyone that showed up to support Cycle Oregon, Craft Beer, and COMMUNITY. We had an absolute blast.

“It was a stunning day to spend time outside chatting with the community.”
