The Most Awful Ride In The World?

A passenger’s account in an 1889 issue of McMinnville’s Telephone-Register proclaimed travel on the Trask River Toll Road “the most awful ride in the world”. Cycle Oregon GRAVEL will ride this same road in 2025.

Why are we going here? Does the account description still hold?

We invited Oregon-based cyclist and YouTube creator Dustin Klein to ride the route ahead of this year’s event. Find out his thoughts by watching this all-new video from his Everything’s Been Done channel.

Spoiler Alert! – Not awful. In fact, the opposite of awful.

  1. I loved the video – great job. I”m trying to explore more around this area. I love cycling but this sounds a bit too hard core. Is there a long but chill trail in this area I could ride to experience the beauty?
