GRAVEL 2025 Recap

“When can I sign up for next year??” – Rider Survey response

Cycle Oregon rolled into the Trask River County Campground under sunny skies and embraced by the Tillamook State Forest for GRAVEL 2025. Riders camped next to the Trask River in one of our favorite campsites which rolled straight into two days of gravel goodness. In all, GRAVEL 2025 had only a little over one mile of pavement for the entire weekend and riders pedaled along the Trask River Toll Road, which in an 1889 newspaper article was called “the most awful ride in the world”. But modern gravel bikes turn awful into awesome; what a great route that is now.

We enjoyed talented bands each night from one of the most beautiful stages you’ll find anywhere. On Saturday, riders put the power to the pedal on different bikes, our reverse-steer distance challenge and mini penny farthings in the not-so-official Twilight Cup. Lots of laughs for everyone. Delicious food, free beer and coffee all weekend – you gotta get to the next one!

The routes are new and interesting. We get to spend the weekend hanging out with some of the nicest people! The support is awesome!

Discovering new parts of Oregon that would be hard without the support and organization. Plus it’s fun and social!

I think cycle Oregon is the best, most organized group. I hear this from so many people, too.

“Met some great people. I am an older woman who attended alone, but I felt very welcomed by staff and riders. Wonderful experience!”

“Made new friends and met an old one via serendipity. Gravel vibe is so friendly!!”
