About

This mixed-terrain route just might offer its most impressive view right at Mile 1 but keep going, it’s lovely for the remaining 20. We recommend 35c tires or larger for this route though there are some fun stretches of pavement to get up to speed, too. Our start and finish is the Nez Perce Homeland Visitor Center and you’ll also find several Maxville historical locations along the route.

Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland Visitor Center
Winter Hours: By appointment or by chance! Contact us at info@wallowanezperce.org to make an appointment or swing by the office located at 209 E. 2nd Street in Wallowa. If we’re here, we’ll let you in!

Take time to visit and connect with the Nez Perce Homeland Visitor Center during your time in Wallowa. You will be greeted with lilóoynin’ ‘éetx páaycix (Glad you’re here) and learn about how the walwaáma (people of wallowa) lived and moved throughout the region you’ve ridden. Cycle Oregon is grateful to this community for their enthusiasm to share the stories of the land they encourage us to ride through today.
