About
HIT REFRESH. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and come ride bikes where “small town nice” is everywhere you go. Joyride is back and this year the charming community of Independence, Oregon welcomes our one-day celebration of women and bikes. Ride and unwind amongst the scenic rolling hills, orchards, vineyards and wide-open farmlands of the central Willamette Valley. And when we’ve had our fill of pedaling, we party. Delicious locally sourced food and libations will be on hand and live bands will be laying down the boogie until the cows come home. All levels of cyclists are welcome – so join us for a big time Cycle Oregon experience served up with tons of small town hospitality.
Sorry, fellas. This ride is for women, but we’d be happy to have you come and volunteer!

Food, Drink & Entertainment
Joyride will offer ample opportunities to sample some of the local fare being perfected throughout Oregon.
Our routes will pedal by Redgate and Emerson Wineries and their wine will also be served at our finish line festival. Our rest stops will include Rogue Chatoe Tasting Room and an Organic Valley Farm that will feature products straight from the farm. The finish line festival will include local beer from Parallel 45 and delicious candy samples from the Melting Pot Candy. There will be two great farmers markets within blocks of the finish line.
The finish-line feast at Riverview Park will feature a bounty of Oregon products.
This year’s menu includes:
- Draper Valley pasture raised chicken marinated and grilled on-site
- Thin sliced NW Natural beef brisket
- Local tamales and salsa from Vianney’s Tamales
- Whole grain roll with butter balls
- Roasted acorn squash wedges
- NW Classic Foods fresh pesto pasta salad with vegetables
- Salad Bar featuring a variety of local and organic fresh salad toppings
- Lauretta Jean’s Biscuit Bar with local strawberries from Diaz Farms, blueberries, Alpenrose whipped cream, Oregon jams and Martha’s honey
In addition to enjoying good food, you’ll hear great live entertainment. If you’re in the mood for self-care, there will be massage therapists, physical therapists, and acupuncturist available for appointments.
Accommodations
There is no camping allowed at Riverview Park, but lucky for you there are a number of wonderful places to stay in nearby. Visit Travel Salem, the Monmouth-Independence Area Chamber of Commerce, and Explore Polk County for recommendations.
Western Oregon University, located about three miles west of downtown Independence, is offering accommodations to Joyride participants in their residence halls as well as camping and RV spaces on campus. Click here for more information and to reserve.
We recommend booking early as rooms throughout the area fill quickly in the spring.
