Cycle Oregon:

The Weekend 2008 - SOLD OUT

A Weekend at the Beach
August 1-3

Cycle Oregon turns 21 in 2008, and we invite you to join us for a pair of stellar celebrations. And in the spirit of reaching the “age of independence,” this year we offer a multitude of choices that will let you experience the bike tour of your dreams.

First up is Cycle Oregon: The Weekend in August. From our base at historic Fort Stevens State Park at the northwestern tip of the state, we’ll venture out like modern-day explorers to scout the rivers, lakes, forests and beaches of the area. It’s a family-friendly event that offers the legendary Cycle Oregon amenities and atmosphere.

Come September, we’ll head to the opposite corner of the state for an epic Week Ride that takes in all the splendor of this rugged landscape. Mountains, valleys and plateaus. Streams, rivers and lakes. Lofty overlooks and deep canyons. It’s everything people expect from The Best Bike Ride in America.

Whether you join us for the Weekend, the Week Ride – or, hey, both! – 2008 is going to be a great year to be a part of Cycle Oregon. Get more details on this site, call 1-800-CYCLE OR, or just go ahead and register right now!

Cycle Oregon Fund - Signature Grants

In 2005 the Cycle Oregon Fund initiated a $50,000 Signature Grant to help the community of Halfway complete funding to repurchase the land for their county fairgrounds. In 2007 Cycle Oregon’s Signature Grant helped restock Diamond Lake with trout after the lake was intentionally poisoned to kill off an invasive species.

For 2008 the fund’s Signature Grant will go to help protect Wallowa Lake’s glacial moraines from development pressure. Cycle Oregon will work with Wallowa County partners, Oregon State Parks, the National Forest Foundation and others to ensure the moraines’ long-term preservation.
